May 19 & 20, 2018
10:00am – 5:00pm

My favorite part of sculpting the human body is adding expression to a pose. Some of our most instantly readable expressions originate from our faces and hand gestures. In this workshop we will focus on building heads and hands to communicate emotion. Adjusting the position and placement of a hand on a face can mean the difference between communicating fear, nervousness or glee.

Full Registration $230.00 (includes 2 meals)

Frank Krevens: Throw and Alter Workshop

June 23 & 24, 2018
10:00am – 5:00pm

This workshop will focus on faceting and stretching cylinders while working on the potter’s wheel in effort to achieve livelier and energetic gestural pottery forms. Using the cup as a starting point, Frank’s demonstrations will focus on the gestural qualities inherent in stretching faceted forms on the wheel. There will also be demonstrations of trimming these pots on the potter’s wheel in a manner that retains the freshness of the marks and undulating rim. Frank will cover functional and aesthetic considerations when in the exploration and discovery phase of designing and making your work. Some of the points he will call attention to are the tactile qualities, proportions, line quality, silhouette, interior-exterior relationship, division of space, pattern, and volume.

$230 Full Workshop (includes 2 meals)
