Directions

Nestled on the beautiful Verde River in Clarkdale, Arizona, Reitz Ranch Center for Ceramic Arts is about a two hours drive north of Phoenix and about a one hour from Flagstaff. Its 13 rural acres are set along the Verde River at the enterance to Sycamore Canyon. Surrounded by the iconic red rocks,  Reitz Ranch is situated a short drive from the picturesque Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon.

By Car from the South:

Take I-17 North (out of Phoenix), to the Cottonwood/Payson Exit, approximately 1 hour 20 minutes from the North end of Phoenix.
Make a LEFT over the freeway, onto Highway 260 heading towards Cottonwood. Follow Highway 260 to Cottonwood (17 miles).
You will come to Main Street. There will be a stoplight and a ‘Speedy’ Gas Station. Turn LEFT onto Main Street and continue through Cottonwood, DO NOT turn at second light to go to Jerome on 89A. Go straight through town, then through Old Town Cottonwood towards Clarkdale.
About 2 miles out of Old Town Cottonwood, you will see a sign to “Tuzigoot National Monument”, turn RIGHT. Go over the Verde River Bridge. As soon as you cross the bridge, turn LEFT on to “Sycamore Canyon Road”.
Stay road- at 4.5 miles. Head down the 2 washes and the road will fork.
There is a sign ‘Cook Ranch Road’ Make an immediate LEFT. (If you go up a hill and over a cattle guard, you’ve gone too far.)
Follow the road for about ½ mile and there will be another fork in the road. Take a left onto Sullivan Ranch Road. This will lead you to the studio.
This last road is a primitive dirt road.

 

From the North:

Take I-17 South (out of Flagstaff), to the Cottonwood/Payson Exit, approximately 1 hour from Flagstaff.

By Shuttle Bus: 

Groome Transportation provides shuttle service from Phoneix, Flagstaff to Sedona/Cottonwood.  The Cottonwood stop is about 11 miles from Reitz Ranch Center for Ceramic Arts.

 

By Plane:

Reitz Ranch is easily accessible from the Phoenix, AZ airport and Flagstaff, AZ airport.  If you fly into Flagstaff or Phoenix, there is a shuttle service that can take you to Cottonwood/Sedona.
