Open Studio and Memberships
We have limited openings on the first and second tier at this time. If you are interested, please email sheryl@reitzranch.org.
We strongly encourage those that have little ceramic knowledge to take a class first. We do offer beginning classes, as does Yavapai college and Sedona Arts Center – but typically you will be working independently at the Ranch. If you have questions please email: sheryl@reitzranch.org
There are three tiers of membership. These charges cover studio usage (lights on, air/heat, water, mortgage, blah blah blah) along with the use of the slab roller, pottery wheels, any other tools supplied by the studio as well as house glazes and firings. The tiers are created around the amount of clay used equaling the amount of usage over a month.* If you’re interested in joining, please email sheryl@reitzranch.org to schedule a time that works best.
Additional clay is available at $25 per 25 lbs/stoneware and $40 per 25lbs/porcelain. That covers the clay, house glazes and all firings, just like your base amount of clay and monthly dues.
*Please note clay does not carry over from month-to-month. Use it or lose it!

Bunkhouse Studio
Our studio is located in the historic Sullivan Ranch Bunkhouse. There are two reasons for calling it historic: The foyer area was actually used as a bunkhouse for cattlemen moving their herds in the late 1800’s, and – of course – this is the area where Don Reitz created his work. Some of the tools we use were his and we still have access to all of his music CDs, if you truly want to completely immerse yourself in his aura!
