In this one day workshop, students will learn plaster mold making and slip casting basics. Participants will receive an intro that is technical, with an emphasis placed on realizing ideas quickly. This workshop offers an opportunity to make your own one piece plaster drop molds and simple two-piece plaster mold from a smaller object of your choice. Come learn through watching and doing as you learn intuitive ways to think about molds. Tiffany will demonstrate the slip casting process using an existing mold, as well as cleaning a cast piece.
Instructions on how to select a simple piece will be sent before the workshop. Feel free to bring specific mold making questions or objects in for discussion. No previous experience required. All materials included.
