Glazed and Confused Part II: Mike Upp

Glazed and Confused Part II with Mike Upp

September 7, 2019: 12:00pm – 5:00pm
$25.00 Members
$40.00 Nonmembers

This is a Part II to the first glaze workshop from Mike Upp. Glazing is many ceramicist’s arch-enemy.  Mike Upp is the only person I’ve heard say he makes pots just so he can glaze!  In this four to five hour class, Mike will continue to cover everything from application techniques, how to track results in order to repeat the great ones consistently, even how to modify your glazes – in essence, creating new glazes – with only a small amount of material. Mike will review content covered from the Part I workshop offered in January and July. He will also continue to explore how to use slips to change glazes and broaden your color palette.  Most of the principals and techniques will apply to Cone 10 as well as Cone 6 glazes.

Suggested items to bring:

  • Apron
  • Disposable gloves
  • Curisoity
  • 2 “Walled” bisque ware pieces (ie. Bowl, Cup, anything with a vertical surface that can contain the glaze test on the inside)
