Why take classes at the Reitz Ranch?

This is an amazing place with a legendary past and an exciting future. The beautiful surroundings alone will inspire you, never mind a working studio with like-minded creatives. You’ll be taught by degreed professional artists who will share their passion for ceramics with you. Class sizes are kept small to give you better access to the teachers.

Classes at Reitz Ranch are something special. Don Reitz, the late owner of the ranch and internationally renowned artist and educator built the kiln shed, bunkhouse and lived on the ranch for 20+ years. It was Don’s dream to have a program for ceramic artists here. We are dedicated to taking that dream into the future and welcome you to join our community.

Don used his studio (“the bunkhouse”) for both pottery wheel work and handbuilding, a kiln shed that has 4 wood fired kilns and a salt kiln. In addition, we’re adding electric, gas and raku kilns to increase our options for creativity and education.
